Crazy Pineapple
Also known as: Crazy Pine
Similar to Pineapple, but players keep all three hole cards through the flop and discard one after the flop betting round. This means players have more information when deciding which card to discard, leading to stronger hands and bigger pots.
Quick Rules
- Each player is dealt 3 hole cards face down.
- Pre-flop betting occurs with all 3 cards in hand.
- The flop is dealt and a betting round occurs (still holding 3 cards).
- After the flop betting round, each player discards 1 card.
- Turn and river play out as in standard Hold'em with 2 hole cards.
Strategy Notes
The post-flop discard decision is the key strategic moment. Players who have hit the flop can keep their best combination while those who missed may still have more outs than in standard Hold'em. Sets and two-pair hands are more common.
Home Game Tips
More action than regular Pineapple since players see the flop before discarding. The delayed discard creates interesting decisions and bigger pots. A home game favorite for groups that find Hold'em too slow.
Use NLH game type. Discard timing managed by the dealer.
