Indian Poker

specialtylow complexity2-10 players (ideal: 6)

Also known as: Blind Man's Bluff, Forehead Poker, One-Card Poker

Each player receives one card and holds it on their forehead without looking at it — everyone can see everyone else's card but not their own. Players bet based on the information they can see and opponents' reactions. Pure reading and reverse-logic game.

Quick Rules

  1. Each player is dealt 1 card face down. DO NOT look at it.
  2. Each player places their card on their forehead, face out (everyone sees it but you).
  3. A betting round occurs. Players bet based on what they see and others' behavior.
  4. At showdown, highest card wins.
  5. Aces are high. Suits break ties (spades > hearts > diamonds > clubs).

Strategy Notes

Observe opponents' willingness to bet — if they bet confidently while looking at your card, your card may be low. If many low cards are visible around the table, your hidden card is statistically more likely to be high. A pure people-reading game.

Home Game Tips

A fun icebreaker or party game. Does not require poker experience — reading reactions matters more than card knowledge. Play for small stakes since the game has very high variance. Great for warming up a home game night.
